To talk about TAMIYA has a chance of re-release the Wild Willy M38 ?!
When TAMIYA make a subject about to re-release all of the typical RC car period 1980, there should be someone who looks like me to have a look and wait for TAMIYA that maybe will be re-release another RC car and get a nerves when you find out a typical vintage RC car on auction website, you do not exactly bidding it,right?! thought, will be has a chance of re-release Wild Willy M38 one day?!
So sad! it almost has no chance at all ! maybe you guys look forward about Wild Willy 3 is possibly.
Why am I certainly to tell you guys there have no chance to re-release of the Wild Willy M38 ?! since there is a Wild Willy M38's part be keep and released in the Wild Willy 2, that is heat sink of water tank part~(which blue square in picture below)
當田宮推出越野車元年企畫案,大舉復刻1980年代的絕版車,應該也有人和傑克我一樣每年觀望著看看老田今年會不會又復刻什麼來著~看到一些絕版車,NIB,根本躊躇不敢花大錢買下去,例如58051 Fox狐狸.連發燒,Avante,Sand Scorcher, 山豬都復刻了,老田會不會哪一天忽然宣佈復刻威力一代呢?
很可惜!應該期待威力三代比較實際一點!威力一代.....回不去了......
讓我想淺談這件事是因為下圖的威力二代套件.此套件內夾著威力一代的水箱散熱氣器零件~
但並不是老田體貼玩家讓玩家能修復威力一代阿~而是共用原金型(模具)修改成二代車殼!
傑克我還算是一個機構工程師,有一點模具經驗能分享一下,以下就模具觀點來淺談一下威力一代復刻的可能性.因為若要商品化,必備條件便是能量產;而能讓產品量產的條件常常就取決於模具~

I am a mechanical engineer and get some experiences of the tooling maybe can share some information for you guys. To talk about the product can be mass manufacturing cause necessary condition is depend on the Tooling.The parts of the Wild Willy 2 car shell is probably modify the tooling of the Wild Willy M38 .

而威力二代的車殼並非新金型(新模具),而是可能是用一代金型直接修模.以下討論:
上圖左邊是威力一代車殼(1982.11.27發行);右邊便是威力二代車殼(1999.10.20發行).兩者明顯不同除了二代在引擎蓋及車身上增加三條凸起的肋條外,一代中央的固定用孔位在二代時被取消了.將二代車殼翻過來看一下,就能查覺到修模取消中央孔後產生的痕跡.下圖:
The picture above is part of the Willy M38 on the left and other is Willy 2 car shell. Both are different in addition to the Willy 2 increased three convex ribs and circle hole on the center is filled out on the engine cover. If you reverse the car shell, there is a trail after modify tooling left.
而下圖是一代防滾架的孔位和車身固定孔(後端);二代後端車身固定孔位置不同

仔細看二代車殼零件,會看到修模的痕跡.

即使如此根本不能說服傑克我否決威力一代復刻的可行性,畢竟我也是極期待著~但後來給我致命的一擊是以下:
即使是同一個產品零件,若開發兩組模具,是不可能模具結構零件位置完全相同吻合.例如頂出pin的位置兩組模具很難完全一樣.而一代與二代車殼頂出pin相對位置幾乎完全相同.

Both eject pin marks left are almost at the same location, it is hardly as the same marks left on the car shell unless both are manufacturing by the same tooling!

車殼背面模具頂出pin幾乎雷同,連一些缺點處也相同@@
最後是威力一代油箱處背面有TAMIYA RCC WILD WILLY 及右下MADE IN JAPAN字樣,在威力二代此處模具補模後並未細部處理,留下非常明顯的痕跡!

另外還有需多車殼成型時產生一些模具癖性處皆相當相似,且說完全吻合!
所以啦,我倒是完全不期待田宮復刻威力一代了.除非老田威力一代還真有兩套模具,或是重新開新模具~
但也沒關係,威力二代的推出,一些車殼共用性零件皆能修復威力一代,也不怕威力一代上的大頭駕駛缺手缺腳甚至斷頭了.想想好處優點還是很多的!祝大家玩車愉快!
